Reducing Required Graduation Credits?

Superintendent Auzqui will recommend to the JCSD#1 Board of Trustees, at the regular Board meeting on November 11th, that the number of credits required for graduation be reduced from 28 to 24 over a four-year period beginning in fall 2025.
The stated purpose is to “offer greater flexibility in school programming, address funding challenges, and better align with distraction staffing and student opportunities.”
Listen to a recording of the community meeting held at BHS on Oct 30th, which was well-attended by parents and staff. Superintendent Auzqui presented data upon which his recommendation is based, and members of the audience asked a wide variety of questions addressing many issues of concern.
