As the 68th Wyoming Legislative Session progresses, newly elected HD40 Representative Marilyn Connolly outlines the business of the Wyoming House during its first eight days. Following a relatively calm and straightforward first week, the tone of the second week has shifted dramatically, with debates in the chamber growing increasingly intense.

The House has tackled several key bills, including:

•HB172: Repealing gun-free zones in schools, colleges, government, and other public buildings.

•HB169: Establishing a 50% property tax exemption for homes valued at $1 million or less.

•HB116: Addressing changes to driver’s licenses.

•HB80: The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) – State Funds Fiduciary Duty Act.

•HB22: Authored by Representative Connolly herself, this bill focuses on authorizing and renewing senior service districts.

Looking ahead to next week, Representative Connolly anticipates robust debate on several pivotal issues, including:

•The Protect Wyoming’s Land Act.

•Adjustments to coal severance tax rates.

•Proposals addressing foreign adversary ownership or control of business entities.
