Lawmakers Look Back
Reflections on the 2025 Legislative Session
March 17, 2025

Local legislators, Representative Marilyn Connolly and Senator Barry Crago, reflect on the recently concluded 168th Session of the Wyoming Legislature, giving context to their decisions.

Wyoming’s latest legislative session was anything but predictable. In an unprecedented move, the Senate rejected any form of a Supplemental Budget with just over a week left in the session. We ask what drove this decision, and how did it shape the final outcome of legislation?

Property tax relief has been a major concern for many homeowners—did lawmakers find a solution that balances financial relief with maintaining essential services? And with a surge of bills addressing social issues, is government overstepping into personal freedoms?

Beyond Wyoming’s borders, how will decisions made in Washington, DC, shape our state’s economy and legislative direction?  Both Representative Connolly and Senator Crago are preparing for challenges—what does that mean for Wyoming residents, and what should we be anticipating?
