Congresswoman Hageman
Town Hall
April 24, 2025

Congresswoman Hageman resumed in-person town halls after a pause due to safety concerns on Thursday 24th April in Buffalo, Johnson County at the Bomber Mountain Civic Center.

After speaking about the recent work of the US House of Representatives, and her own involvement across varies issues, Ms Hageman answered questions from the audience.

She opted for a new format, selecting at random written questions from attendees from a box placed near the podium prior to the start of the event, rather than taking questions from the floor.
(See Question 5 below for more explanation from the Congresswoman on this decision.)

Congresswoman Harriet Hageman – Update from Washington, DC. 1:00

Question & Answer Period

1.  “You voted for the SAVE Act.  What are married women expected to provide in order to vote?  Has there been any evidence of voter fraud in Wyoming? Are we spending a lot of time and energy on something that isn’t a problem in Wyoming”  30:32

2. “The stock market has done nothing but tank since inauguration day and Trump promised to lower prices on ‘Day One’.  Can you explain why he hasn’t delivered on that promise and has instead made things worse?” 33:15

3.  “You keep saying in the press that 70% support this dumpster fire of an administration.  No one signed up for this”. 36:15

4.  “Married to a US citizen and father of two children, denied due process and sent to a prison in El Salvador.  The Supreme Court ordered his return and the current administration ignored their ruling.  Can you please pressure the administration to grant due process to all people and ask for Kilmer’s return?   41:20

5.  “Why are you afraid to allow your constituents to speak at this town meeting?” 44:40

6.   “What is the amount of money the United States government paid to El Salvador to imprison alleged gang members?  Three million or six million?  Was that a one-time payment or is it recurring?  If it is recurring, is that annual, monthly or for how long?”  47:30

7.   “BLM Resource Management plans identify public land that’s available for disposal through sales or exchanges because those parcels meet the criteria as set forth in the Federal Land Policy Management Act or FLPMA.  Are you advocating sale of BLM land not already identified in an RMP and will you circumvent FLPMA to get parcels pushed through?” 48:20

8. “How can our local senior centers provide services to a growing elderly population with a 25% cut to HHS?” 51:15

9.  “Do you believe that the judicial branch has no place in our government as our founding fathers believed, or do you think a president should have unchecked power and usurp the Constitution and US laws?”  51:55

10. “US laws restrict the amount of money individual citizens can donate to a candidate, $3,500.  With Trump’s meme coin, it is now possible for rich people around the world to directly curry favor with the President in total anonymity.   What are your thoughts on the Trump meme coin and its potential to curry political favors for the president?” 52:25

11.  “Thank you for fighting for us”  54:40

12.  “Please resurrect RECA.  Uranium and radiation is a cradle grave. The 1971 act and the 2024 stoppage of this act is a disservice to all post-1971 miners.” 58:00

Thanks & Close 59:40
