A big focus for House legislators was on the issue of property tax relief for homeowners, with House Representatives deliberating a multitude of amendments. Meanwhile, a Constitutional Amendment separating property tax into its own classification remains active, which would completely redirect the issue.
Despite supporting relief for homeowners, Representative Connolly expresses significant concern over the potential negative impact of a 50% reduction, leading to less revenue for the county to spend on services, where the smaller communities would likely be the hardest hit.
